Our little boy Caleb doesn't need to be told twice when Daddy tells him to go "put on your boots"! He doesn't know where he's going, doesn't know how long it'll take or how much it will cost; All he knows is Daddy asked him to go spend quality time with him and that's all it takes for him to obey. We have heard the same request from our heavenly Father concerning adoption. We are embarking on this adoption adventure with Him not knowing the where and how; All we know is God wants to spend quality time with us and teach us who He is on a deeper level.

We're in! / On y va!

Last Friday (2/5/10)we were told by the agency that right now, the wait for a male from Ethiopia is very short and it is possible that our entire adoption process could take 1 year or less. I then realized that I had unconsciouly made my way in to the Driver's seat. I had no problem believing that God could provide all the money that we needed in 2 years. Two years gave Him plenty of time! As if He needed me to give Him time to perform that miracle! But less than a year? So humbly I decided to step back into my passenger's seat and once again let Him have total control of my life. Why do we constantly think we don't need Him?!

We received an email yesterday (02/09/10)from our adoption agency, to tell us that our family had been approved to move forward with the Ethiopia program! The email was filled with paperwork to fill out (reminds me of the paperwork we had to fill out to get me into the US), but was also such an encouragement. Here's a piece of it: "Adoption is a life-changing experience! You will feel a multitude of emotions during your journey through this process. The ensuing months may both seem to fly by and crawl at a snail's pace. You may occasionally question the adoption process, but keep in mind the arrival of your child or children will happen in God's perfect timing." What a blessing to be accompanied by brothers and sisters in the Lord through this journey.
